Role Summary

The Real Estate Program Manager will be a versatile team member responsible for supporting the planning, execution, and governance of the firm's real estate portfolio, including office build-outs, relocations, and workplace technology deployments across Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP. This role sits at the intersection of real estate operations, technical implementation, and program management, requiring an individual who can open and manage all aspects of technical implementation by partnering with technology teams, real estate teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders. The successful candidate will support a diverse portfolio of real estate initiatives, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and work closely with stakeholders to ensure that program initiatives align with the firm's strategic objectives and deliver measurable outcomes, reporting to the Director, PMO.

Responsibilities
  • Support the planning, execution, and delivery of a variety of real estate programs and initiatives across the firm, including new office openings, renovations, and relocations, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and business objectives.
  • Open and manage all aspects of technical implementation for real estate projects by partnering with technology teams, real estate teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders from project kickoff through completion.
  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of assigned real estate projects, including requirements gathering, stakeholder coordination, implementation support, change management, and post-deployment follow-up.
  • Apply appropriate program and project management methodologies to manage delivery cycles for real estate build-outs and technology deployments, ensuring timely progress while maintaining quality standards.
  • Serve as a liaison between real estate teams, technology teams, firm leadership, and external vendors and contractors, translating operational and technical requirements into clear, actionable plans.
  • Develop and maintain program roadmaps, budgets, risk registers, and status reports for stakeholders and steering committees overseeing real estate initiatives.
  • Support organizational change management activities to foster adoption of new office spaces, workplace processes, and technology across the firm, including training programs and communication strategies.
  • Monitor relevant real estate and workplace technology trends and provide recommendations to firm leadership on opportunities and risks affecting assigned program areas.
  • Ensure all program activities comply with the firm's legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements, including data privacy and confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with and support project managers, analysts, and other PMO team members on assigned real estate initiatives.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience required

  • PMP, Prince2 or CAPM preferred

Skills and Experience
  • 5 - 10 years' experience opening and managing all aspects of technical implementation by partnering with technology teams, real estate teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting real estate or workplace programs in complex organizational environments, preferably in professional services or legal.
  • PMO experience, including supporting governance frameworks, portfolio tracking, resource planning, and reporting.
  • Exceptional communication skills-both written and verbal-with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences, including partners and C-suite executives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with a track record of building trusted relationships with senior leaders, real estate teams, technology teams, and vendors.
  • Coaching and mentoring fellow PMO team members.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a law firm, professional services firm, or financial institution.
  • Familiarity with real estate project management, office build-outs, and workplace technology deployment (audiovisual systems, security systems, network infrastructure).
  • Knowledge of legal industry regulations around data privacy, confidentiality, and privilege.
  • Experience supporting program or project budgets of varying sizes, including real estate capital projects.

Salary Information

NY Only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $180,000 at the time of posting.

The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
