Position Summary
Capitol Federal is seeking a strategic and experienced Total Rewards Manager to oversee the administration and continuous improvement of the Bank's compensation, benefits, and payroll programs. This role will ensure regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and competitive programs that support employee engagement and organizational success.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the administration of payroll, employee benefits, retirement plans, and compensation programs.
  • Oversee payroll processing, compliance, reporting, and internal controls.
  • Manage health and welfare benefits, 401(k), ESOP, wellness initiatives, and annual renewals.
  • Conduct compensation analyses, market pricing, salary benchmarking, and pay equity reviews.
  • Support salary administration, incentive compensation plans, and annual compensation planning.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll, benefits, compensation, and employment regulations.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for leadership, auditors, and regulators.
  • Lead and develop the Payroll, Benefits & Compensation team.
  • Identify process improvements and support HR initiatives that enhance the employee experience.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of payroll, benefits, and/or compensation experience.
  • Three to five years of Human Resources experience.
  • Two or more years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of payroll regulations, compensation practices, and benefits administration.

Preferred
  • Experience with compensation benchmarking, incentive plans, and market pricing.
  • Workday experience.
  • CPP, CCP, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.

Work Environment
  • Regular in-office attendance required.
  • Occasional travel to branch locations may be required.
  • Ability to work extended hours when business needs require.
