Position Description:

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Capital Projects Superintendent to join our team. The successful candidate will overshee execution for multiple projects across differnt sites.

Responsibilities:
  • Successfully execute capital projects within existing framework to meet business need
  • Evaluate and prioritize prospective projects, including
    • Commission and evaluate trade-off studies
    • Develop project schedules and budgets at appropriate detail
    • Develop and review financial assessments in coordination with Finance partners
    • Ensure projects meet company investment filters
    • Prepare and motivate project approvals
  • Support safety culture to execute projects with zero-harm
  • Manage consultants, vendors, and contractors to drive project execution
  • Direct engineering process to deliver fit for purpose design that meets business need
  • Support procurement process, including
    • Coordinate and communicate procurement strategies
    • Develop work scopes and bid packages
    • Complete technical and commercial review
    • Participate in bid clarifications and negotiations
    • Recommend contract award and seek necessary approvals
  • Identify, mitigate, monitor, and respond to risks affecting project execution
  • Coordinate and communicate with project stakeholders
  • Manage capital spend, report variance, and adjust forecasts monthly
  • Report project status and risk to stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Identify continuous improvement initiatives and develop plans to deliver value savings
  • Oversee execution for multiple projects across different sites
  • Mentor young and developing project engineers
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in engineering or a related field required
  • Project Management Professional certificate or Professional Engineer licensure preferred
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in progressive project management, engineering design, and construction management preferred
  • Supervisory and leadership experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of project management techniques required
  • Technical capability in engineering design preferred
  • Experience with capital and project management systems preferred
  • Data and business analysis skills to conduct preferred
