THE OPPORTUNITY

The Associate will support the Fund Finance team in originating, underwriting, structuring, closing, and monitoring credit facilities for private capital clients, including venture capital, growth equity, private equity, private credit, and other investment fund managers. The role will focus primarily on fund-level credit products such as capital call/subscription lines, GP and management company lines, and related fund finance solutions. This position requires strong credit judgment, financial analysis skills, attention to detail, and the ability to partner effectively with relationship managers, credit partners, legal counsel, operations, treasury management, and clients. Performs all duties in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the Company operates.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Support the underwriting and structuring of fund finance credit facilities, including capital call/subscription lines, GP and management company lines, and other fund-level lending products.
  • Analyze fund structures, investment strategies, investor bases, limited partnership agreements, private placement memorandum, and borrowing base calculations to assess credit quality and appropriate loan structure.
  • Partner with relationship managers, credit approval partners, legal counsel, operations, treasury management, and other internal stakeholders to support transaction execution and ongoing client service.
  • Identify specific merits, risks, and mitigants for each transaction.
  • Construct and maintain detailed financial models and develop sensitivity analyses.
  • Generate internal approval memoranda and term sheets.
  • Perform market, industry, and sponsor due diligence.
  • Ensure business terms, concepts, and structure are accurately captured in loan documentation.
  • Assist in all aspects of origination activity leading to the closing of new transactions.
  • Follow all established policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • 3-4 years’ experience in investment banking, structured lending required.
  • Premium finance lending preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required and MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy – work is subject to various forms of regulatory scrutiny.
  • Must exhibit a significant level of trust, professionalism, diplomacy and conceptual judgement in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
  • Superior interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities, and projects simultaneously.
  • Creative and strategic thinker capable of analyzing information/processes to determine overall trends and make appropriate conclusions.
  • Ability to work independently yet collaborate cross-functionally in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of banking/financial/insurance business operations, industry trends and applicable federal and state banking regulations for safety and soundness related to credit risk/loan review and governances to identify gaps in the Bank’s credit and underwriting policies and procedures preferred.
  • Meaningful experience with financial modeling preferred.
  • Knowledge of multiple lending asset and loan collateral classes preferred.
  • Advanced understanding of accounting and finance including financial statement analysis preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required

The base salary ultimately offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant in alignment with market data and other factors.
