Job Title:

Capital Markets Operations Analyst

Location:

What you'll do:

The Capital Markets Operations Analyst owns key post trade processes supporting mortgage backed securities (MBS), whole loan sales, and related hedging activity. This role is critical to ensuring accurate trade capture, pooling, settlement, and reconciliation while maintaining strong internal controls and regulatory compliance.
The analyst partners closely with Traders, Financial Engineering, Accounting, agency counterparts, dealer counterparties, and custodians to ensure timely and accurate execution across the full trade lifecycle, including the creation and delivery of GNMA, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac securities.
This role offers hands on exposure to securitization, agency execution, and capital markets risk within a large, bank owned mortgage platform.
  • Aggregate and pool eligible loans into GNMA, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac securities in accordance with agency guidelines
  • Own posttrade processing for MBS, mortgagerelated derivatives (including TBAs, futures, and swaps), and whole loan transactions, including trade capture validation, position management, settlement, and reconciliation
  • Prepare, validate, and submit pool and delivery data to agencies and custodians
  • Maintain accurate loan and security position records and investigate data breaks, settlement fails, and other operational discrepancies across the trade lifecycle
  • Ensure compliance with SOX controls, documentation standards, and internal audit requirements
  • Partner with internal teams to resolve exceptions and improve operational processes
  • Support securitization data preparation by monitoring data quality, completeness, and lineage
  • Support margin/collateral processes as needed, including coordinating with counterparties and internal teams

What you'll need:

  • 3+ years of related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required.
  • Entry level knowledge of residential mortgage industry in Correspondent or Retail Lending, including sales, operations, capital markets and/or other residential mortgage products and services.
  • Entry level knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
  • SQL experience preferred.
  • Intermediate speaking and writing communication skills.
Compensation: Salary range for new hires is generally $100,370.00 - $123,983.00 for Westlake Village, CA. Salary amount is determined by specific job location. In addition, the role may be eligible for annual bonus/incentives earned.
