The City of Arkansas City, Kansas is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking professional to serve as its next Public Services Superintendent.
Reporting directly to the City Manager, this executive leadership position oversees the City's Public Services Department, including Streets, Stormwater, Sanitation, and Parks & Facilities operations.
The position provides a unique opportunity to lead essential municipal services while helping guide the long-term planning and maintenance of infrastructure that supports residents, businesses, and regional employers.
Arkansas City is seeking a leader who brings technical expertise, strategic vision, and collaborative leadership to continue delivering high-quality public services and infrastructure stewardship.
The Public Services Superintendent provides executive leadership and operational oversight for the City's Public Services Department.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include:
  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, public works management, civil engineering technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Five years of progressively responsible municipal public works or public services experience
  • Three years of supervisory or management experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to obtain a Class B CDL within the required timeframe

Preferred qualifications include:
  • Advanced degree in public administration, engineering, or management
  • Experience overseeing multiple operational divisions
  • Experience with infrastructure planning and capital improvement programs

Compensation and Benefits
$88,303 - $119,468
