Capacity Analyst
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Capacity Analyst is responsible for analyzing, tracking, and reporting manufacturing capacity for a paper printing and converting facility. This role supports production planning, demand management, and capital decision-making by providing accurate visibility into available capacity, constraints, and utilization across key operations including printing, converting, and packaging.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and maintain capacity models for printing presses, converting lines, and supporting operations.
Analyze available versus required capacity based on forecasted demand, production schedules, labor availability, and equipment constraints.
Identify bottlenecks, constraints, and capacity limitations across shifts, processes, and product families.
Track capacity availability, utilization, efficiency, and throughput by asset, line, and department.
Create and maintain standardized capacity reports, dashboards, and KPIs for plant leadership.
Support weekly capacity reviews with the business or commercial unit, as well as monthly and ad-hoc capacity reviews, providing visibility into available capacity, constraints, and risks.
Partner with Production Planning and Scheduling to align capacity with customer demand.
Support scenario modeling for overtime, shift changes, outsourcing, or equipment downtime.
Collaborate with Engineering and Production to understand equipment capabilities, change-over efficiency, and equipment rates.
Provide data and analysis to support capital investment and capacity expansion decisions.
Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives to increase throughput and capacity utilization.
