Legend Biotech is seeking a Capability Manager, Business Applications as part of the IT team based in Somerset, NJ.

Role Overview

The IT Manager - Business Applications is a technically strong individual contributor responsible for partnering with business functions and enabling the successful delivery, enhancement, and support of enterprise applications across corporate domains including Finance, Procurement, Commercial, and other business functions as needed.
Reporting to the Lead, Business Applications, this role owns end-to-end system capabilities including configuration, integration, support, and continuous improvement. The role bridges technical execution with strategic planning, driving project delivery in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders including business teams, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, vendors, and auditors.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong business partnership skills, and a forward-looking mindset toward innovation, scalability, compliance, and lifecycle management across a diverse application landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the IT business enablement lead for Business Applications spanning Finance, Procurement, Commercial, and other corporate functions, leveraging platforms such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, SAP Ariba, Anaplan, and other enterprise or SaaS solutions.
  • Lead configuration, administration, and continuous improvement of applications with a focus on scalability, integration, automation, and user experience.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into robust, scalable, and compliant technology solutions.
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure integrations between enterprise systems and internal/external applications, ensuring data integrity and seamless process flow.
  • Provide advanced Tier 2/3 application support, coordinating with managed service providers and vendors to ensure SLA adherence and continuous service improvement.
  • Lead testing strategies including system integration testing, UAT, regression testing, and release/cutover planning for system upgrades and enhancements.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and data quality; proactively identify and drive improvements, optimization opportunities, and technical debt reduction.
  • Support compliance and audit activities (SOX, GxP, and other regulatory requirements), ensuring proper documentation, controls, and audit readiness.
  • Maintain comprehensive system documentation, knowledge articles, and user guides to support adoption and operational excellence.
    Provide regular updates on project delivery, system health, and enhancement roadmaps to IT and business stakeholders.
  • Stay current with industry trends across Finance, Procurement, and Commercial technology landscapes, identifying opportunities for innovation and value creation.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to IT and business leaders on system capabilities, risks, vendor performance, and transformation initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Finance or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Relevant certifications such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, or Anaplan are preferred.
  • PMP, Agile, or equivalent project management certifications are a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in business application delivery, development, support.
  • Experience supporting business functions such as Finance, Procurement, and/or Commercial systems
  • Experience in Anaplan Project Implementations is strongly preferred.
  • Strong hands-on experience with one or more platforms such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, SAP Ariba, Anaplan, or similar enterprise applications.
  • Working knowledge of system integration methods (e.g., APIs, SFTP, middleware) and tools.
  • Understanding Finance processes such as Finance Planning, Management & External Reporting, Capex Planning, Monthly Close Process, Reporting and Data Analytics.
  • Experience with system compliance activities including SOX, GxP, and audit-readiness.
  • Experience working with SaaS vendors and managing issue resolution through ticketing systems.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and business audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
