The Senior Tax Manager provides strategic leadership for the tax practice and serves as a trusted advisor to clients, firm leadership, and team members. This role oversees complex tax engagements, ensures compliance with evolving tax regulations, drives tax planning initiatives, and develops high-performing tax professionals. The Senior Tax Manager plays a key role in practice growth, client retention, and delivering innovative solutions that help clients achieve their financial and business objectives.ย 

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for tax services, client engagements, and practice operations.ย ย 
  • Lead, mentor, and develop tax professionals at all levels, including managers, seniors, and staff.ย ย 
  • Review and oversee complex federal, state, local, and international tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and other entities.ย ย 
  • Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws, regulations, professional standards, and firm policies.ย ย 
  • Serve as the firm's technical resource on complex tax matters, regulatory updates, and tax law changes.ย ย 
  • Develop and implement sophisticated tax planning strategies that help clients minimize tax liabilities and achieve business objectives.ย ย 
  • Advise clients on complex transactions, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, and other strategic tax matters.ย ย 
  • Manage federal, state, and local tax audits, examinations, and tax controversy matters.ย ย 
  • Serve as the primary liaison with taxing authorities and oversee the resolution of audit findings and tax disputes.ย ย 
  • Oversee income tax provision and reporting processes, including ASC 740 compliance, when applicable.ย ย 
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while serving as a trusted business advisor.ย ย 
  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and develop new business opportunities.ย ย 
  • Participate in proposal development, networking activities, and practice development initiatives.ย ย 
  • Drive process improvements, technology adoption, and operational efficiencies across the tax function.ย ย 
  • Collaborate with firm leadership to support strategic growth initiatives and practice development goals.ย 

What Youโ€™ll Bringย ย 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.ย 
  • Active CPA license required.ย 
  • Master's degree in Taxation, Accounting, or a related field preferred.ย 
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive tax experience.ย 
  • Significant leadership experience managing tax professionals and client engagements.ย 
  • Extensive experience in public accounting, corporate tax, or a combination of both preferred.ย 
  • Strong expertise in federal, state, local, and international tax regulations.ย 
  • Advanced knowledge of tax compliance, tax planning, and tax advisory services.ย 
  • Experience managing complex tax audits, examinations, and controversy matters.ย 
  • Knowledge of ASC 740 and tax provision reporting requirements preferred.ย 
  • Proficiency with tax software such as CCH Axcess, ONESOURCE, or similar platforms.ย 
  • Strong analytical, strategic-thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.ย 
  • Demonstrated business development and client relationship management experience.ย 
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, presentation, and negotiation skills.ย 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with executives, business owners, and stakeholders.ย 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, engagement teams, and client deadlines in a fast-paced environment.ย
