Your role

Mission:

The prime responsibilities for this role are to promote the development and growth of sales for Engineered Solutions product portfolio.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Business Development (75%): 

  • Drive Engineered Solutions Growth: Lead the business development strategy for large-scale Engineered Solutions, specifically focusing on custom air system enclosures. Establish and exceed ambitious sales goals through targeted prospecting and strategic selling into complex industrial markets.
  • Project Scoping & Product Mix Optimization: Act as the primary sales authority for organizing and scoping multi-faceted projects. Analyze complex customer requirements to engineer the product mix, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency for custom enclosure setups.
  • Vendor Management & Execution: Partner and negotiate with internal and external vendors and suppliers to integrate components seamlessly. Oversee the project lifecycle from quote to fulfillment, ensuring all partners deliver on time and to exact specifications.
  • Operational Synergy: Collaborate cross-functionally with internal manufacturing teams to streamline their production procedures, elevate operational efficiency, and align their execution capabilities with the high standards of the Engineered Solutions group.
  • Strategic Market Expansion: Identify, cultivate, and secure key direct OEM and large national account customers. Develop and implement tailored sales and marketing strategies to maximize business results and market share within the custom engineered space.
  • Relationship & Account Management: Support existing OEM customers and actively nurture these relationships to drive repeat business and long-term project partnerships.
  • Financial & Resource Management: Control project-related expenses and optimize profit margins while maximizing company assets, time, and technical resources throughout complex, long-cycle sales processes.
  • Continuous Strategy Refinement: Regularly review and adapt business development strategies. Recommend targeted modifications and enhancements that will secure sales goals in line with aggressive growth targets for the Engineered Solutions product line.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Maintain highly effective communication with external vendors and internal stakeholders, including the Business Line Manager, Regional Vice Presidents, regional Direct Sales Representatives, and the Technical/Service departments to ensure alignment from project conception through commissioning.
  • Industry Representation: Act as the premier technical and sales representative for the company's Engineered Solutions capabilities at critical trade shows, conferences, and industry events.

Reporting (15%) - Prepare monthly reports that show market trends, business development results, competitor activity, sales forecasts, and prospective activity. Prepare forecasts and track orders for Industrial Air products monthly.

Market Analysis (5%) - Continuously pursue knowledge and understanding of economic trends and news that may affect the compressed air business. Report such activity to the Business Line Managers, Regional Vice Presidents, and regional Sales Representatives.

Personal Development (5%) - Through training and development, remain current in the product knowledge and sales/marketing skills necessary to be effective in the position. Contribute to positive Company branding by projecting a knowledgeable, professional, and customer-oriented image to customer

To succeed, you will need

Supervisory Responsiblity:

  • none 

Experience: 

  • 5-10 years of experience in compressed air / industrial equipment field sales
  • 3+ years of sales management experience, including field sales and territory management
  • Experience in application engineering
  • Hands-on experience in designing and sizing compressed air systems
  • Strong background in delivering custom engineered solutions for industrial customers

Education: 

  • Bachelor's (4-year) Degree in Business, Engineering, or other technical area, and/or equivalent training and education.

Skills: 

  • Must be a proven leader who is able to work independently and has excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. Travel required. Must have a valid driver's licens

Travel: 

  • Up to 50% local travel, and up to 50% overnight travel.
