Job description

Penner-Ash Wine Cellars is seeking motivated, hardworking individuals to join our small team for the 2026 harvest. This is a hands-on opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the winemaking process at a highly regarded Willamette Valley winery.
We work with fruit from over twenty sustainably farmed vineyards across the Northern Willamette Valley, with a focus on small-lot, vineyard-designate wines. In 2026, we anticipate processing approximately 200 tons, primarily Pinot Noir, along with Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, and Viognier.
Because we are a small, collaborative team, interns gain exposure to the full scope of harvest work, including (but not limited to) vineyard sampling, fruit processing, fermentation monitoring, additions, cap management, pressing, barreling down, and cleaning/sanitation.

Internships typically begin in late August with harvest prep, cleaning, and vineyard sampling. As fruit arrives, the focus shifts to processing, fermentation work, and cap management, followed by pressing and barreling down. Harvest generally wraps up between late October and early November, depending on the season.

BENEFITS:
  • Harvest meals during peak processing
  • A supportive, team-oriented environment (and yes, plenty of inside jokes)
  • Harvest swag
  • Meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities
  • Exposure to some of the Willamette Valley’s most respected vineyard sources
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • A positive attitude and solid sense of humor
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to jump in wherever needed
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Commitment to safety
  • Good communication skills and a sense of urgency
  • A genuine interest in wine and the harvest process

WAGE TRANSPARENCY:
Competitive hourly pay ranging from $18.50–$22.00/hour, depending on experience and skills.
