What is a Canva internship?

A Canva Internship is a paid work experience program designed for students or recent graduates interested in gaining hands-on experience at Canva, a leading online design platform. Interns work on real projects alongside experienced teams in areas such as engineering, design, marketing, and more. The program aims to provide professional development, mentorship, and the opportunity to contribute to Canva’s mission and products. Interns benefit from a supportive, inclusive environment and often have opportunities for full-time roles after successful completion.

What types of projects and responsibilities can I expect as a Canva intern, and how are interns typically integrated into the team?

As a Canva intern, you can expect to work on real, impactful projects that directly contribute to the company's products and services. Interns are usually assigned to specific teams based on their skills and interests, and they're encouraged to participate in brainstorming sessions, product development, and user research. The work environment is highly collaborative, with interns paired with mentors and included in regular team meetings. This integration helps interns build valuable industry experience, gain feedback, and develop professional relationships across different departments.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Canva intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Canva Intern, you generally need a foundation in design principles, problem-solving abilities, and relevant coursework or experience in your field of interest (such as graphic design, engineering, marketing, or product management). Familiarity with Canva's design platform, digital collaboration tools (like Slack or Trello), and sometimes programming languages or analytics tools is often expected.
