Job description

Position Purpose
The Career & Experiential Education Center (CEEC) is seeking a creative and motivated student to support the marketing and communications efforts of the office. This role helps promote career events, services, and opportunities to the campus community through engaging digital and print materials.

The student assistant will play an active role in shaping the Career Center’s social media presence, designing promotional materials, and supporting marketing campaigns that connect students with career resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design engaging digital and print marketing materials for CEEC programs, services, and events.
  • Manage the Career Center’s social media platforms, including creating posts, stories, reels, and short-form video content. Includes all design portions and content writing.
  • Use Canva as the primary design platform to create visually engaging graphics and promotional content.
  • Collaborate with CEEC staff to develop marketing campaigns that promote events such as workshops, career fairs, special programs, and courses.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-promote events and services to increase student awareness and participation.
  • Design and produce promotional items such as flyers, posters, table tents, and digital graphics.
  • Occasionally assist with front desk support, including answering phones and welcoming students and employers visiting the office.
  • Work with the University Marketing Office to ensure all materials follow institutional brand standards.
  • Manage project timelines to ensure marketing materials are completed and ready for distribution on schedule.
  • Take initiative on creative projects and follow them through from concept to completion.
  • Contribute to a collaborative office environment and assist with additional projects as needed.

CEEC staff, students, faculty, University marketing staff, employers, and members of the campus community.

Supervision
The co-op will work toward defined project goals while managing day-to-day tasks independently. The position reports to the Assistant Director of the CEEC, with regularly scheduled check-ins throughout the semester.

Qualifications

Education

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program
  • Must be participating in the University’s Cooperative Education Program

Experience

  • Minimum sophomore standing
  • Demonstrated writing, design, and computer skills
  • Experience with graphic design or social media content creation

Preferred Technical Skills

  • Canva design platform
  • Social media scheduling tools for platforms such as Instagram or Facebook
