Summary of Role:
We are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to accelerate growth with Data Center customers in the Bay Area. Responsibility includes driving new business opportunities and managing key customer relationships, from early engagement through deal closure.
Essential Responsibilities:
Drive Business Growth
  • Identify, develop, and close new opportunities for Data Center customers in the Bay Area
  • Lead the full sales lifecycle from initial engagement to contract execution
  • Focus on strategic engagements including:
    • Processor IP solutions
    • Custom silicon
    • Software tools

Own Strategic Customer Relationships
  • Act as primary account owner for key Data Canter customers
  • Build strong relationships across engineering, purchasing, and executive levels
  • Develop and execute account strategies aligned with customer roadmaps

Engage & Position Solutions
  • Work closely with customer engineering teams to understand system requirements
  • Position MIPS' value proposition
  • Translate technical requirements into compelling commercial proposals

Build and Manage Pipeline
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities
  • Ensure accurate forecasting and CRM management
  • Track progress toward revenue targets

Collaborate Across Teams
  • Partner with engineering, product management, marketing, and foundry teams
  • Align internal stakeholders to drive successful customer engagements
  • Provide input to product roadmap based on market and customer needs

Other Responsibilities:
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications:
Experience
  • 10+ years in business development, sales, or account management
  • Background in: Semiconductor Processor IP or ASIC/SoC Sales
  • Proven success in closing complex, high-value deals

Technical Expertise
  • Strong understanding of Data Center system architectures & systems
  • Familiarity with processor IP and silicon development flows

Skills
  • Strong customer engagement and negotiation capabilities
  • Ability to operate independently and manage multiple opportunities
  • Excellent communication bridging technical and commercial topics

Expected Salary Range
$167,000.00 - $275,000.00
