Job description

Position Summary/Purpose
Produce high quality photographs of the various Student Engagement events as well as working alongside student leaders to create marketing materials to advertise these events. Provide creative insight and support in Brand & Media initiatives including, but not limited to, content creation, campaign development, and social media strategy.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide photography for the Student Engagement Department.
  • Attend and photograph for Student Engagement events using professional equipment (provided).
  • Capture photos and edit using software programs: Photoshop, Lightroom.
  • Reach out to other students interested in photography projects.
  • Upload photos to shared server/file location where marketing staff have access to them.
  • Meet with Project Coordinator and student leaders to receive feedback or changes, review upcoming events, assignments, and communication strategies.
  • Occasionally attend client meetings with the Coordinator.
  • Maintain a strict schedule for completed tasks as requested by clients.
  • Meet routinely with the Brand & Media team to create content for assigned social media platforms, projects, and campaigns.

Qualifications
  • Must have a high level of technical skill in specified field.
  • Experience in photography using professional equipment.
  • Proficient in photo editing software programs.
  • Able to take and receive direction from Student Engagement staff for vision.
  • Able to work well with others in achieving the common goal of highlighting and marketing Student Engagement events.
  • Able and willing to develop in technical, collaborative, creative, and relevant skills.

REQUIRED - Photography portfolio.
OPTIONAL - Social media or brand portfolio.
Experience/Education
Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy.
Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:
  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program or Master's program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
Anticipated End Date: June 30, 2027
