Job description

Senior Cannabis Retail Patient Consultant

Join The Botanist, part of Canopy USA, LLC

We’re building a stronger, more agile organization within Canopy USA, LLC — a leading, vertically integrated, multi-state cannabis operator. Following the December 2024 transition of Acreage Holdings to Canopy USA, we are consolidating operations across three powerhouse brands: Wana (edibles and beverages), Jetty (vape and concentrates), and Acreage (cultivation with Superflux flower and retail through The Botanist). This alignment unlocks efficiencies, cost savings, and growth across state-legal markets, with a focus on the Midwest and Northeast.

At The Botanist, you’ll be the face of our retail experience — guiding patients with knowledge, empathy, and precision.

A day in the life

You’ll open the doors to a clean, safe, and welcoming dispensary. As patients arrive or call in, you’ll greet them, schedule appointments, and manage intake and renewal steps. You’ll maintain compliant member records, answer questions about state regulations and our company, and help patients select the right products with clear guidance on safe dosing and use.

Behind the scenes, you’ll support cash handling and inventory counts with the Dispensary Manager, and you’ll flex across order fulfillment: preparing orders, entering product information, calling patients regarding product requests, and admitting patients when our Security Guard is assisting elsewhere. You’ll also liaise with local service providers as needed.

What you’ll bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional related post-secondary education (2 years) preferred
  • 2+ years in fast-paced, client-facing work — hospitality or retail strongly preferred
  • Comfort with retail technology: POS systems, Microsoft Word and Excel; general office equipment
  • Customer-first communication skills on the phone and in person
  • Calm, steady performance under pressure; adaptable and proactive multitasker
  • Integrity, confidentiality, accuracy in cash handling and inventory control
  • Clear written and verbal communication; strong planning, prioritization, and attention to detail
  • Reliable team player with absolute honesty; familiarity with medical cannabis is a plus

Compensation: $18.50-$19/hr.

Schedule
  • Five 8-hour shifts
  • Night and weekend availability required
  • Schedule subject to change based on business needs
Benefits
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid parental leave
  • 401(k)
  • Paid Time Off
  • Short- and long-term disability coverage
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Company-paid life insurance with options to add supplemental coverage
  • Spouse and child life and AD&D
  • Pet insurance
  • FSA and HSA options
  • Benefits eligibility rules apply.
