Job Title: Delivery Driver
Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Location: R. Greenleaf Organics (NE Heights) | Albuquerque, New Mexico
Hourly Range: $14.00/hr plus tips*
*As a tipped industry, tips are and can be variable as a result of many factors, including shift availability, schedule, full-time/part-time status, hours of operations, weekends/nights, and specific dispensary. Our wage range is a realistic representation of the overall earnings opportunity when joining the Vireo Health of Rocky Mountain team, which includes prominent banners such as Star Buds, LivWell, and EveryDay Weed. 
Position Objective
The position of Delivery Driver serves as a critical cornerstone in our mission to provide secure and efficient access to cannabis products for our valued customers in New Mexico. As a Delivery Driver, you play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, timely, and compliant delivery of cannabis products, bearing the responsibility of representing our company with professionalism and delivering an exceptional customer experience. Your dedication to these core functions is vital in upholding our commitment to providing reliable access to cannabis products while adhering to all state and company regulations.
Essential Functions
Safe and Timely Delivery (70%)
  • Safe Transportation: Safely transport cannabis products from our facility to customer/business locations, strictly adhering to state laws and company regulations. This includes both first and third-party facilities. Drivers are responsible for ensuring that products remain secure and undamaged throughout the transportation process.
  • Adherence to Routes and Schedules: Follow predetermined delivery routes and schedules meticulously to guarantee the timely delivery of products. Punctuality is of the essence, and drivers must ensure that deliveries are made as scheduled.
 
Customer Service (20%)
  • Exceptional Customer Engagement: Provide top-tier customer service, which includes verifying customer identification, explaining product details, and addressing inquiries related to cannabis products. Delivery Drivers act as the face of the company, and their professionalism and friendly demeanor are crucial to creating a positive customer experience.
  • Product Knowledge: Stay informed about the various cannabis products offered, including their effects, uses, and proper storage. Drivers are expected to educate customers on responsible consumption and safe storage practices.
 
Inventory Management and Compliance (10%)
  • Meticulous Record-Keeping: Keep accurate records of inventory and sales transactions, ensuring that product orders are precisely matched to customer requests. This function is essential to maintain product integrity and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Adhere to all state and company regulations governing cannabis delivery, which includes age verification and record-keeping obligations. Drivers are also responsible for reporting any issues, discrepancies, or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
  • Vehicle Maintenance and Organization: Perform routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety and report any maintenance or safety issues. It's imperative that delivery vehicles remain in optimal condition to fulfill their role. Additionally, maintain cleanliness and organization within the delivery vehicle.
 
Please note that the percentage allocations are a general estimate and may vary based on business needs and priorities. Additional duties may be required as needed to support overall operations.
Requirements
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with a professional and friendly customer interaction approach.
  • Physical fitness to handle the lifting and transportation of heavy packages.
  • A firm commitment to safety and professionalism.
 
A Plus, but Not Required
  • Previous delivery experience, particularly in the cannabis industry, is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of New Mexico's cannabis regulations and delivery compliance standards is desirable.
 
Working Conditions (Schedule, Environment, Travel) 
  • Ability to lift 30-50 pounds regularly throughout the workday.
  • Day shift and working hours will vary based on business needs, including the need for overtime.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid New Mexico Food Handler License to support safe and compliant handling of cannabis products.
