Job Description

Broadway Cannabis Market, where our motto is Premium Without the Price, is a locally-owned recreational and medicinal cannabis dispensary chain in Downtown Portland. We are seeking a qualified applicant for the full time Budtender position at our shop located in SE Portland. The Budtender is responsible for interacting with and assisting customers with their cannabis needs, keeping supplies stocked, and ringing up sales.

Responsibilities and Duties:

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Turning on Slack notifications and acknowledging procedure updates;
  • Advising customers on suitable cannabis products based upon their needs, preferences, budgets, and reactions to different strains of cannabis;
  • Staying updated on new cannabis products on the market, as well as the latest industry trends, by researching and trying new products;
  • Processing customer payments using the point-of-sale (POS) system;
  • Ensuring that the dispensary is clean, well organized, and well stocked at all times with both cannabis and non-cannabis items;
  • Educating customers on the safe use of cannabis items;
  • Correctly weighing, packaging, and labeling cannabis products as required by Oregon Liquor & Cannabis Commission (OLCC) regulations;
  • Checking customer identification documents to verify legal age;
  • Following procedures and the direction of management at all times;
  • Helping with opening and closing tasks or any other assigned duty.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED;
  • General knowledge of cannabis;
  • Knowledge of OLCC sales limits;
  • Customer service skills;
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately;
  • The ability to stand for long periods of time;
  • The ability to lift up to 25 lbs.;
  • The ability to adapt to changing circumstances without notice;
  • Must be able to understand and comply with safety regulations;
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written;
  • Must be 21 years of age or older;
  • Must have a valid Oregon Marijuana Worker Permit.

  • $16.80/hr. + shared tips (typical tips average between $6- $10 per hour);
