Internship Objective:
SweetWater is looking for an Engineering intern for our Maintenance team, reporting to the Director of Operations. The ideal candidate is willing to learn, "roll-up their sleeves", and works well with others.
This internship supports key initiatives in packaging and brewing operations by analyzing production data, identifying process inefficiencies, and helping implement improvements that enhance throughput, reduce waste, and optimize resource use. The intern collaborates with cross-functional teams on projects involving line performance, equipment reliability, sustainability, and workflow optimization, gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Education & Experience
  • A minimum of 1 to 2 years of college credit with a focus in Engineering, or an applicable degree path.
  • Experience in writing and standardizing SOPs with clarity, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Practiced in designing structured training programs, including hands-on, progressive, and competency-based training modules.
  • Skilled in training and development of Operators in a manufacturing environment.
  • Show experience managing multiple projects at a time
  • Show initiative to be self-driven. Experience with leading projects and processes to completion
  • Demonstrated experience working cross-department

Technical & Operational Requirements
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment(s)
  • Understanding of good manufacturing practices (sanitation, quality control, safety procedures).
  • Good decision-making skills
  • Strong organizational skills required

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability to lift 55+ lbs (bags of grain, kegs, equipment) and move heavy materials safely.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and work in hot, cold, wet, and physically demanding environments.
  • Ability to have difficult conversations with team members
  • Willing to work on off shifts for periods of time for training and development of employees.
