Job description

Senior-level engineer applying electrical engineering knowledge and skills for large, complex, long duration engineering projects. 

Day to Day Role 

  • Manage and prioritize projects or programs of large size, scope, and duration 

  • Lead and coordinate project work with other engineers, technicians, designers and/or or drafters  

  • Troubleshoot, analyze, identify, evaluate, propose, implement, and document engineering solutions, electrical designs and software systems for machine and process controls 

  • Lead the creation and modification ofdesigns and requirements for automated production equipment, electrical and hardware schematics, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) ladder logic, Human-Machine Interface (HMI), and controls software 

  • Oversee equipment debug and installations  

  • Identify broad conceptual ideas and develop them into useful solutions 

  • Collaborate with production personnel and other departments to gather information and draft reports, and improve equipment, processes, and products 

  • Create test parameters and participate in the testing and implementation of engineering solutions 

  • Establish continuous improvement plans where efficiency, quality, safety, or service can be improved 

  • Mentor other engineers 

Core Skills and Qualifications

The ideal canddiate must posses the following:

  • Requires one of the following: 

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in engineering or related field of study and six (6) years of related engineering experience, OR 

  • Associate's degree and twelve (12) years of related engineering experience 

  • Experience designing, developing, implementing and troubleshooting complex control systems using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) ladder logic, Human-Machine Interface (HMI), and controls software 

  • Experience utilizing 5S procedures 

  • Advanced knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various products 

  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications 

  • Advanced knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models 

  • Advanced knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of products 

  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems 

  • Ability to successfully prioritize, and manage large, complex projects, deadlines, and tasks with little supervision in both team and independent environments  

  • Strong verbal and written skills necessary to communicate intricate job-related information
