Job description

Assistant Store Manager โ€” Legacy Toys

Legacy Toys is an experience for all ages โ€” a utopia of toys, games, candy and more. We create unique experiences that encourage kids of all ages to visit, explore, and keep coming back. As a team member, you're here to put on a performance for our guests: engaging, entertaining, and leaving them with a smile. That means telling jokes, demoing products, maybe even a magic trick or two.

As Assistant Store Manager, you're the backbone of the store. You keep things running smoothly behind the scenes while staying present on the floor โ€” supporting your team, delighting customers, and making sure Legacy Toys looks and feels its best every single day.

What you'll do:

  • Lead by example on the sales floor โ€” greeting customers, answering questions, and jumping in wherever needed
  • Train and develop Sales Associates and Shift Leads, tracking progress and flagging concerns to the Store Manager
  • Help implement store schedules, policies, and operational goals
  • Manage inventory: receiving orders, processing transfers, tracking special orders, and keeping the backroom organized
  • Keep the sales floor fully stocked, clean, and shoppable at all times
  • Share new product knowledge with the team through demos, education, and hands-on training
  • Coordinate daily operations during peak times and fill in for scheduling gaps as needed
  • Communicate customer feedback and team updates to the Store Manager
  • Represent the Legacy Toys brand โ€” on the clock and off โ€” with pride and positivity
  • Make someone's day a little brighter

What we're looking for:

  • Prior retail experience required; supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred
  • A natural leader who can coach, motivate, and hold a team accountable with warmth
  • Strong communicator โ€” with customers, staff, and management alike
  • Comfortable with inventory, scheduling, and basic store operations
  • Flexible availability including evenings and weekends; able to step in when the team needs you
  • Fast-paced, high-energy environment doesn't rattle you โ€” it energizes you
  • Genuine love for people, play, and the Legacy Toys experience
  • Positive attitude (still contagious at the management level)

What you'll get:

  • Legacy Bucks โ€” quarterly store credit earned based on your hours
  • Employee discount
  • Flexible scheduling
  • First look at new products and arrivals
  • Staff Picks โ€” your recommendations featured on the floor
  • A clear path to grow into Store Manager
