POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Maintenance Leadership Team, the Industrial Electrician / Electrical Reliability Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving the electrical systems that support Premier Candle's manufacturing operation. This position plays a critical role in maximizing production uptime, improving product quality, enhancing employee safety, and reducing equipment failures through proactive maintenance and continuous improvement. This is much more than a traditional maintenance position. The successful candidate will be expected to identify root causes of electrical failures, improve system reliability, participate in capital projects, and collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to continuously improve manufacturing performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Industrial Electrical Maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical systems using structured problem-solving techniques and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical distribution systems, motor control systems, MCCs, control panels, and production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot three-phase motors, starters, overloads, relays, contactors, VFDs, and soft starters.
  • Install, modify, repair, and maintain industrial electrical equipment and systems.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and precision maintenance activities on electrical assets.
  • Conduct electrical inspections and identify developing equipment issues before failures occur.
Equipment Reliability
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment at the electrical and I/O level.
  • Diagnose failures involving sensors, safety circuits, photoeyes, proximity switches, encoders, and other field devices.
  • Support production equipment including conveyors, automated packaging systems, labeling equipment, process heating systems, pumps, compressors, and material handling equipment.
  • Assist with equipment upgrades, electrical modifications, and capital improvement projects.
  • Utilize CMMS software to accurately document repairs, inspections, equipment history, and reliability improvements.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analyses, After Action Reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
  • Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Instrumentation & Controls, and Mechanical Maintenance teams to improve equipment performance.
  • Share technical knowledge and mentor fellow maintenance technicians.
  • Maintain accurate electrical documentation including schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment records.
  • Promote safe work practices and support Premier Candle's reliability-centered maintenance philosophy.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Electrical trade school, apprenticeship, technical degree, or equivalent industrial electrical training preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot industrial electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and technical documentation.
  • Experience utilizing CMMS software to document maintenance activities.
Strong knowledge of:
  • Three-phase electrical systems

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is based within Premier Candle's manufacturing facility and requires hands-on work throughout the production environment. The Industrial Electrician will regularly interact with manufacturing equipment, electrical systems, production personnel, engineering, and maintenance teams while supporting equipment reliability and plant operations.
