ICF Resources, LLC: Energy Analyst - Reston, VA
DUTIES:
  • Contributing to the development of innovative, accurate, timely, and high-quality products and services in the clean energy and building decarbonization sector, typically working on multiple projects with all levels of staff;
  • Applying advanced analytics and proprietary methodologies to support regional and local energy clients and local Canadian energy consulting, analytics, and engineering teams with energy planning, program design, program implementation, analytics, energy usage analysis, propensity models, and targeting processes, based on energy usage benchmarks;
  • Assisting in the development of advanced energy saving calculations and economic analyses for the residential and commercial sectors;
  • Leveraging publicly available energy data to build and maintain comprehensive, project-specific databases that support more robust analysis;
  • Playing a key role in the design and continuous improvement of a proprietary, custom-built, Salesforce-based decarbonization tracking and database system that can effectively support on-the-ground project teams focused on implementing building electrification, energy efficiency and clean energy projects;
  • Collaborating with on-the-ground project teams to understand project needs;
  • Working with Salesforce Sales Cloud Marketing Cloud teams to support the rollout of the database required for successful program operations;
  • Preparing and presenting persuasive data visualizations and dashboards, using Salesforce and additional data visualization tools, such as Power BI and Tableau;
  • Supporting continuous Salesforce customizations and database management, including data uploads using Salesforce Data Loader;
  • Supporting on-the-ground ICF database users and troubleshooting the use of the Salesforce Sales Cloud;
  • Managing and analyzing large datasets to extract actionable insights and support strategic decisions;
  • Creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets, PDF forms, and databases for internal tracking;
  • Developing and updating client reports and technical documents on a regular basis; and
  • Conducting in-depth market research on various energy efficiency technologies including decarbonization adoption, saturation, and feasibility.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in environmental science, energy, architecture, and 2 years of experience with energy and/or environmental data (e.g. decarbonization) research and analytics.
Experience must include:
  • 2 years of demonstrated experience with advanced data analytics functions using a formulaic approach and visualizations in Excel
  • 2 years of experience with MS Office suite of programs including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Forms.
  • 2 years of experience as an Administrator for a CRM system (Salesforce or MS Dynamics)
  • 2 years of experience managing, organizing, and cleaning big data sets using tools like SQL and Excel.
  • 2 years of experience acquiring, managing, and gaining insights from government OpenData platforms
  • 2 years of experience working with building energy efficiency data including benchmarked energy use, and deemed savings calculations based on energy conservation measure reductions.
  • 2 years of experience working with City or State Building Performance Standards to quantify fines and associated carbon reductions needed to comply with government carbon regulations.
  • 2 years of experience preparing reports and data insights for advisors providing decarbonization technical assistance to building decision makers.
  • 2 years of experience preparing client-ready reports and deliverables using data insights and visualizations
  • 2 years of experience with Tableau and Power BI.

TELEWORK: Hybrid position; 2 days per week remote.
There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is: $99,216.00 to $114,008.00/year.
