Job Description
We are seeking a Device Product Manager to own the end-to-end Vehicle Data product roadmap - from on-device CAN data capture through the Vehicle Data Service that powers downstream solutions across the organization. This includes CAN-based feature development, OEM integration, vehicle ADAS features, and safety alert contextualization capabilities. Vehicle data from the device serves as a foundational data layer consumed by multiple internal product teams (safety, analytics, compliance, coaching), making cross-PM collaboration central to this role. The ideal candidate brings a platform mindset and can operate across the full device-to-cloud data pipeline, working hand-in-hand with CAN engineering and data engineering teams to ensure data accuracy, coverage, and reliability from source to service.
Hybrid Work Schedule
We believe in the value of in-person collaboration while maintaining flexibility. Team members work from the office on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with remote work on Tuesday and Friday.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own the vehicle data roadmap end-to-end - on-device CAN/J1939/OBD-II data capture, decoding, and normalization through to the VDS - ensuring data is delivered in a scalable, extensible format.
  • Drive the VDS roadmap, including ADAS feature integration and the alert decoration framework that enriches safety events with contextual vehicle telemetry.
  • Partner with internal PM stakeholders across safety, analytics, compliance, and coaching to understand their data and enrichment needs and ensure the vehicle data platform enables their solutions.
  • Define and execute OEM integration strategy, expanding vehicle data coverage through partnerships with truck and vehicle OEMs and support for proprietary data protocols.
  • Establish and maintain the vehicle data contract - schema, supported parameters, ADAS event types, decoration logic, and delivery mechanisms - so consuming teams have a reliable, well-documented interface.
  • Translate requirements into actionable PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria, balancing priorities across internal teams, OEM partners, and customers.
  • Collaborate with hardware, embedded software, and CAN engineering teams to align vehicle data features with device capabilities, service architecture, and release timelines.
  • Conduct competitive analysis on vehicle data and telematics offerings to inform differentiation and roadmap priorities.
  • Monitor KPIs across vehicle data coverage, decode accuracy, ADAS event capture, alert decoration completeness, and internal platform adoption.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; engineering, computer science, or related technical field preferred.
  • 5+ years of industry experience with at least 3 years in product management in a technology or automotive/fleet environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with vehicle data systems, including CAN bus protocols (J1939, OBD-II/J1979) or vehicle telemetry.
  • Experience with ADAS systems or OEM safety platform integration is highly desirable.
  • Experience in a platform-oriented PM role where internal teams are key consumers is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (JIRA, Confluence).

Skills & Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of vehicle communication protocols (CAN, J1939, OBD-II) and data decoding/normalization.
  • Knowledge of ADAS technologies and how safety systems surface events via CAN or proprietary interfaces.
  • Ability to work closely with specialized engineering teams (CAN engineering, data engineering) to define technical requirements, validate data quality, and drive issue resolution.
  • Platform thinking - ability to design extensible data products and interfaces that serve multiple consuming teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management across internal PM teams and external partners.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Self-starter comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
