Job description

EPS Corporation is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Machinist with a minimum of 10 years' hands-on experience in machining and CNC programming. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and programming CNC and manual machining equipment to produce complex, high-tolerance parts in support of Department of Defense (DoD) and commercial fabrication projects. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, develop efficient machining strategies, and ensure conformance to AS9100D and MIL-STD quality standards.

Key Responsibilities: Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes (e.g., Haas, Mazak, Okuma, Fanuc-controlled machines). Translate engineering drawings, 3D models, and technical data into efficient machining processes. * Create and optimize G-code and toolpaths using CAM software such as Mastercam, , or CAMworks (Solidworks CAM).

Perform quality inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM, etc.) to verify tolerances and specifications. Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and speeds/feeds to improve throughput and part quality. * Conduct first article inspections and support root cause analysis on non-conforming parts.

Collaborate with engineers, quality inspectors, and other machinists to solve complex fabrication problems. Maintain accurate production documentation and machine maintenance logs. * Adhere to and promote workplace safety standards and shop best practices.

Assist with quoting CNC machining jobs by accurately projecting production time, tooling usage, etc. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; trade school certification or associate degree in machining or manufacturing technology preferred. * Minimum of 10 years of machining experience, including 5+ years of CNC machine programming.

Proficiency in interpreting GD&T, blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models. Advanced understanding of machining materials, including aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and polymers. * Experience working in a DoD or AS9100D-compliant manufacturing environment.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications: CAM certification (e.g., Mastercam, CAMworks (Solidworks CAM).) Experience with 5-axis machining Prior work supporting military systems or defense-related prototypes Familiarity with CMPro or other manufacturing data management systems IPC, AWS, or NADCAP exposure is a plus Work Conditions: Position may require standing for extended periods and lifting materials up to 50 lbs.
