Unarmed Security Officer – Per Diem (School, Camp & Flexible Assignments)

Allentown, PA Area Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour (Site-Based) +$0.25/hour Military Differential

Now Hiring – Immediate Openings Available

KRE Security, LLC is seeking professional and dependable Unarmed Security Officers for per diem assignments throughout the Allentown area. This role offers flexible scheduling, allowing officers to accept shifts based on availability while supporting safe, structured, and secure environments.

Assignments may include school-based security coverage during the academic year, summer camp security assignments, and additional non-school locations based on operational needs and officer availability. Summer camp and school-based assignments require Pennsylvania school clearances; however, KRE Security also offers a variety of non-school assignments that do not require school clearances.

This position is ideal for individuals seeking flexible supplemental income, retired law enforcement or military personnel, security professionals looking for additional shifts, or candidates interested in transitioning into long-term or full-time security opportunities.

Typical Responsibilities

Maintain a visible, professional security presence within assigned environments

Monitor entrances, hallways, common areas, and designated post locations

Support safe, secure, and orderly environments

Respond to incidents, safety concerns, and emergencies

Document activity and complete daily reports

Follow site policies, procedures, and post orders

Communicate effectively with staff, administration, supervisors, and clients

Qualifications

Minimum 18 years of age

High school diploma or GED

Prior security, military, law enforcement, or customer service experience preferred

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Professional appearance and demeanor

Reliable attendance when accepting assignments

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Must pass background check

Required in-person orientation prior to assignment

For School & Camp Assignments, must be able to obtain required Pennsylvania school clearances:

ChildLine Clearance (Act 151)

Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History (Act 34)

FBI Fingerprinting (Act 114)

Compensation & Benefits

$18.00 – $20.00/hour (based on assignment)

+$0.25/hour for military veterans and active-duty service members
