About the Role
ANTS Sports is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and experienced Program Site Lead to join our year-round team in San Francisco. This is a full-time leadership position responsible for overseeing both our morning recess program and afternoon after-school program (ASP) during the school year, and transitioning into a Camp Lead or Coach role during summer programming.
This role is responsible for site staff culture, program quality, and operational excellence. The primary goal is to create sports programming that is fun, safe, and fully aligned with the ANTS Promise and Coaching Principals, while building positive, lasting relationships with students, families, and school staff year-round.
Schedule & Program Calendar
School Year (August 17, 2026 - June 2, 2027)
  • Morning Recess Program: Approx. 10:30 AM - 1:00 PM (exact times vary by site), 4 days a week.
  • After-School Program (M, T, Th, F): 1:45 PM - 6:00 PM
  • After-School Program (Wednesday): 12:35 PM - 6:00 PM
  • Admin & Prep Time: Included weekly for meetings, curriculum planning, and communications

Holiday Camps
Site Leads are required to work all designated holiday camp days when SFUSD schools are not in session. For SY 2026-2027, these dates include:
  • October 12
  • November 11
  • November 24-26
  • December 21-23, 26, 29-31
  • January 2, 19
  • February 5, 15
  • March 26-28
  • April 1-2

Holiday camp days run approximately 8 hours. Specific site assignments will be confirmed in advance. Additional holiday camp dates may be added based on program needs.
Summer Camp (June 3 - Mid-August 2027)
During the summer period, this role transitions into full-time summer camp programming. Depending on experience and performance, the Site Lead may serve as:
  • Camp Lead: Oversee daily camp operations, manage a team of coaches, ensure curriculum delivery, and maintain the energy and safety of the full camp program.
  • Camp Coach: Deliver high-quality sports instruction and youth programming as part of the camp team.

Summer camp programming averages between 38 - 40 hours of direct programming per week, supplemented by structured admin time (equipment prep, curriculum planning, documentation). A one-week summer closure is built into the program calendar, during this period staff will prepare for upcoming camps.
Most of our school year programming takes place in the Sunset / West Portal / Miraloma area in San Francisco.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership
  • Lead and supervise both the morning recess program and afternoon after-school sports program
  • Structure the day, build the curriculum, and ensure smooth daily program flow
  • Run pre-program huddles and post-program reflections with your coaching team
  • Manage station rotations and time effectively across groups of 30-50 students
  • Set up equipment before each session and clean up afterward

Staff Leadership
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of 3-4 coaches across both programs
  • Directly manage Asst Site Lead and Lead Coach assigned to your ASP site
  • Delegate roles clearly, give real-time feedback, and build team morale
  • Address attendance, performance, or effort issues professionally and promptly
  • Assist with staff training to reinforce ANTS Sports procedures and protocols

Youth Development & Safety
  • Coach various sports to TK-5th grade students in a fun, age-appropriate, and high-energy manner
  • Lead group meetings to establish and reinforce class agreements (STAR sportsmanship, safety rules)
  • Follow ANTS procedures for behavior management, incidents, and escalations
  • Dismiss students safely according to site-specific procedures

School & Family Partnerships
  • Build strong, professional relationships with students, parents, teachers, and school staff
  • Communicate proactively with principals, assistant principals, and teachers
  • Represent ANTS Sports as a trusted and positive presence within the school community
  • Maintain equipment spaces and contribute to bulletin boards and marketing materials

Operations & Administration
  • Track attendance and manage check-in/check-out safety procedures
  • Complete incident reports and documentation accurately and on time
  • Attend weekly team meetings and bi-weekly ASP Site Lead leadership meetings
  • Manage equipment systems across assigned sites (maximum 2 sites)
  • Manage customer service requests from parents and family members

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • 2+ years of experience working in youth programs
  • 6+ months in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Genuine love for sports, physical activity, and working outdoors
  • Strong communication skills with TK-5th grade children and adults
  • Available Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM during the school year
  • Available for all designated holiday camp days throughout the year
  • Available for summer camp programming from June through mid-August
  • CPR and First Aid certification (training available upon hire)
  • Fingerprint background check clearance
  • TB Test clearance
