Job description

Position Title: Elementary Kids Pastor
Campus: Gilbert
Reports to: Gilbert Campus Pastor
Status: Full-Time
Position Summary: The Kids Pastor will lead kids in their next steps on their journey with Jesus. They will work to reach and engage families in the community and will work to recruit, develop, and equip volunteer leaders. The Kids Pastor will help create an exciting and engaging kid ministry environment on their campus. As needed and in support of the Campus Pastor, this position will support campus wide efforts. This position also manages the Central Kids Baptism process for all campuses.

This individual must fit within our collaborative culture and build teams that represents the campus and the community in areas of gender, ethnicity, and age.
This position moves forward the mission and values of Central Christian Church. The mission of Central is to lead people to discover and fully own their faith in Jesus. Responsibilities:
Community
  • Participate as a Kids Team Member
  • Develop relationships with families (parents & kids)
  • Manage communication between Kids Team and Campus Pastor
  • Participate in the leadership, development and implementation of weekend ministry. Including, but not limited to:
  • Implement provided weekend curriculum
  • Resource preparation
  • Room preparation
  • Room staffing
  • Set-up and tear down
  • Participate in the leadership and implementation of various ministry events. Including, but not limited to:
    • Pre-Teen Camp (4th-6th grade)
    • Kids Camp (3yr old to 3rd grade)
    • Volunteer Training nights
    • Outreach Activities
    • Other ministry functions
  • Support the development of curriculum in partnership with Central Kids Programming Pastor. This includes but is not limited to:
    • Writing lesson plans
    • Filming curriculum videos
    • Developing small group activities
  • Develop, maintain and grow partnerships with families, school administrators and organizations
  • Support the Campus Pastor in his/her leadership of the campus.
  • Support community outreach efforts
  • Develop, implement and maintain Central Kids Social Media platforms including the development of the strategy for executing social media.
    • This includes working with the Central Kids Programming Pastor on marketing and promotion of events and the weekend content.
  • Develop, implement and maintain Central Kids texting system including but not limited to:
    • Training Central Kids Pastors to respond and communicate to parents through the system
    • Setting up keywords for parents to respond to
  • Cleaning & Facilities
    • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of all Kids Ministry spaces to ensure a welcoming environment for children and families
    • Perform routine cleaning tasks including taking out trash, dusting surfaces, sanitizing toys and high-touch areas, and cleaning windows and countertops
    • Ensure floors are vacuumed, swept, and mopped weekly and after services, events, or meetings
    • Monitor and restock cleaning supplies as needed to support ongoing facility upkeep
Leadership Development
  • Lead, recruit and develop volunteer leaders, both adults and students, to serve within the ministry, including special needs ministry.
  • Support vision and direction of Central Christian Church and Family Ministries.
  • Participate in all staff events at each level.
  • Attend bi-weekly team meetings in kids ministry
  • Attend all church wide/campus specific events
  • Attend Campus Team meetings as required

Physical Requirements:
