Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Electrical Installer to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will install, program, test, repairs, and service a variety of systems and equipment which may include security, fire alarm & life safety with minimal guidance as needed. You will work closely with customers and internal colleagues in providing technical installation support and training.   • Install, program, test, repairs, and service a variety of systems and equipment which may include security, access control, analog & IP camera's, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation with minimal guidance as needed in a construction environment.
  • Work closely with customers and internal colleagues in providing technical installation support and training. May assist or train less experienced Electrical Installers.  Refers more complex issues to more experienced colleagues.
  • Interpret manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and repairs equipment, utilizing knowledge of electronics and using standard test instruments and hand tools.
  • Provide basic installation assistance as directed by project lead.
  • Act as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint Technologies is the customer’s first choice for service.
  • Take ownership of onsite project including safety, quality and performance. Observe and practice Convergint Quality Standards.
  • Make suggestions for installation methods to improve profitability and quality.
  • Learn and perform tasks of an Electrical Installer III in order to progress through the trade program.
  • Provide feedback to the Job-Lead regarding problems and anticipate time associated with an assigned task. Act as primary liaison to Project Lead.
  • Experience installing and wiring fire alarms, panel installation & wiring, and programming of door and camera additions.
  • Solid Construction Skills and understanding of system plans.
  • Solid understanding of blueprints, design drawings including wiring and labeling methods, system wiring, wiring methods, cut sheets, wiring schematics, and cable support installation (J-Hook, Raceway, Conduit, Cable Support).
  • Very familiar with basic blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures unassisted, may require assistance with more complex specifications.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
  • Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper) and ability to read blueprints and drawings; solid math skills (for some positions, this may include calculating area, velocity, resistance, voltage, etc.).
  • Solid verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • The Electrical Installer will be responsible for providing basic hand tools as required to perform the daily tasks of the position.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Requirements:

Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience

Minimum Experience: 3-5 years in electronic security industry

  • Previous construction experience including some level of electrical or a low voltage background

Preferred Experience (but not required):

  • Relevant trade designation (e.g. Electrician)
  • Experience in 1 or more of the following industries: electronic, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation
  • Experience with Axis / Bosch / DMP / Lenel / Software House
  • Certifications & Licenses: Project Management Institute (PMI); industry-specific certifications and/or
