CAM (Computer Assisted Manufacturing) & Graphics Technician
Raleigh, NC | Full-Time | Exempt | In-Person
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated CAM (Computer Assisted Manufacturing) & Graphics Technician to support the daily operations of the graphics and manufacturing departments.
This role is responsible for preparing production-ready files, supporting graphics output, operating manufacturing equipment, and ensuring high-quality signage production across a variety of interior and exterior sign projects. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced production environment, works well independently and collaboratively, and takes pride in accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare prepress and typeset files for the manufacturing of interior and exterior signage.
  • Utilize client message schedules and approved drawings to create production-ready files.
  • Setup graphics production files while applying machine-specific settings and production requirements.
  • Review and proof completed work for accuracy including color, layout, grammar, typesetting, and design consistency.
  • Operate graphics printers, plotters, laminators, laser cutters, and CNC routers.
  • Understand signage production processes and select proper substrates and production methods.
  • Thoroughly review job tickets and specifications before beginning production.
  • Assist with quality control to ensure finished signage meets approved specifications and company standards.
  • Communicate effectively with production teams to maintain workflow efficiency and meet deadlines.
  • Follow all OSHA safety standards and company safety procedures.
  • Support hazardous waste compliance and proper material handling procedures.
  • Work overtime or weekends as needed to support production schedules.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support business operations.
Additional Responsibilities (Training Provided if Needed)
  • Perform maintenance and minor repairs on production equipment.
  • Setup and operate computerized manufacturing equipment and laminators.
  • Apply vinyl graphics and assist with graphic installations.
  • Perform color matching across multiple substrates and materials.
  • Safely operate hand and power tools.
  • Read and accurately use tape measures including fractional measurements.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in sign production, graphics production, or large/small format printing preferred.
  • Experience operating computer-assisted manufacturing equipment is a plus.
  • Strong computer aptitude and ability to learn production software and equipment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven production environment.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to identify production issues quickly and proactively seek solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Ability to work from shop orders, specifications, drawings, cover sheets, samples, and instructions.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to occasionally lift 75+ lbs.
  • Required use of PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, and face masks when necessary.
  • Ability to safely work around manufacturing and production equipment.
