Expected salary range of $127,800 to $142,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).
Primary Purpose of Position
Lead activities relating to designing, building, testing, implementing and maintaining AI solutions, products and processes. Provide IT teams and business personnel with technology solutions by evaluating technology standards, market availability of products, risks and benefits of technology to deliver solutions that meet business/IT needs. Coordinate the tasks of less experienced engineers and collaborate across teams as needed. Independence level: Works independently with minimal guidance. Works closely with scrum masters, project managers, QA, Creative, and UX team members to ensure compliance with project needs. Your role will be centered on the development and improvement of new and existing features. Additionally, you will be reviewing the code of your peers, advocating for standard development methodologies, and participating in an inclusive, energetic and highly cross-functional team. The role encompasses architect, design, implementation, and testing to ensure building products right and to release them with high quality.
Primary Duties and Accountabilities
  • Engage with business partners to gather information, analyze requirements and deliver practical, efficient and cost-effective solutions that satisfy business needs.
  • Ensure all applications adhere to regulatory, cybersecurity, and compliance requirements, including NERC, FERC, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and data privacy laws.
  • Design, develop and/or review complex code or configurations to ensure AI solutions meet the requirements of functional and technical specifications.
  • Develop and/or review project technical architecture design and development.
  • Lead engineering team and provide oversight for less experienced engineers; Stay on top of latest technologies and trends.
  • Engage in the BU roll-up analysis and resource development for annual talent review process.
  • Solutions may include but are not limited to the development of various types of applications, web, mobile app, full stack or integrations hosted on premises data centers or in the cloud.
  • Stay on top of the latest technologies and trends.
  • Develop automated Unit tests and/or automated UI tests.
  • Enhance knowledge of and compliance with preferred technologies, methodologies, standards and policies.
  • Using error reports, establish priorities and assign out bugs to relevant team members for resolution.
  • Assist in the development of white papers, conducting presentations as needed to explain why a technology is being recommended by IT.
  • Develop architecture and design of large-scale distributed software services and solutions.
  • Maintain and enhance technical knowledge and business acumen within the relevant discipline or function.
  • Participate in IT architecture review and standards setting.
  • Provide IT teams and business personnel with technology solutions by weighing advantages of technology trends, market availability of products, risks and benefits of technology to meet business/IT needs.
  • Support development of version control principles (e.g. Git and working within an agile environment), CI/CD pipeline and various automations.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills; lead peer code reviews.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems with 5-years experience, in lieu of degree 9-years experience
  • 2-years of experience in AI systems or software engineering related to implementing ML capabilities or applications, including turning requirements into implementation and evaluating architectural tradeoffs
  • Demonstrated ability to lead small to medium teams in delivering software solutions
  • Demonstrated strong software development capabilities coupled with the ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Teamwork and self-motivation skills to achieve success in a rapidly evolving environment
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) for conveying complex findings to non-technical stakeholders
  • Knowledge of operating systems such as Windows, Solaris, or Linux, or cloud platforms such as Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud
  • Strong knowledge of software development languages, such as Python, Perl, C#, Java, JavaScript, Node.js, .NET, HTML, Angular, Swift, Objective C, Android, or Xamarin
  • Strong knowledge of SQL or NoSQL databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, Cosmos DB, MySQL, Redis, or Splunk
  • Strong knowledge utilizing AI tools like Microsoft Copilots
  • Understanding of advanced programming concepts, data structures, and algorithms

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field and 3 years of relevant experience
  • Experience building highly scalable applications
  • Experience in automated testing including unit testing, UI testing and functional testing
  • Experience with Agile software development and test-driven development
  • Experience leading software development efforts, designing conceptual data models and system architecture, and developing user interfaces
  • Demonstrated understanding of what makes good software design, a deeper understanding of programming languages, and an ability to solve engineering problems of increasing difficulty
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and collaboration skills
  • Experience with or exposure to Agile Scrum, Kanban, and interactive development processes.
  • Experience in data engineering
  • Ability to prioritize, schedule, and manage work to adhere to critical multiple projects and timelines in a fast paced environment and work effectively under pressure
