Job description

Piper Companies is seeking a Sr. UC Network Engineer to support a leading government services organization in the defense industry. The Sr. UC Network Engineer will serve as a key technical resource responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and enhancing Cisco Unified Communications environments supporting mission-critical operations. This position requires an active Secret Clearance and is onsite four days per week at Scott Air Force Base. Responsibilities of the Sr. UC Network Engineer: • Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco Unified Communications (UC) solutions in an enterprise environment. • Administer and support Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM/Call Manager) infrastructure. • Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity to ensure reliable voice and collaboration services. • Perform upgrades, patches, and configuration changes across UC platforms. • Collaborate with network, security, and infrastructure teams to support integrated communications solutions. • Troubleshoot complex voice, video, and collaboration issues while ensuring minimal service disruption. • Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and system diagrams. • Support compliance and security requirements within a Department of Defense environment. Qualifications of the Sr. UC Network Engineer: • Active Secret Clearance required. • 7+ years of experience supporting Cisco Unified Communications environments. • Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM/Call Manager). • Experience with Cisco voice, collaboration, and telephony technologies. • Knowledge of VoIP, SIP, dial plans, gateways, and voice network troubleshooting. • Experience working within enterprise or government environments. • Strong understanding of network infrastructure, routing, switching, and security concepts. • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. • Cisco certifications such as CCNP Collaboration or equivalent are preferred. Compensation for the Sr. UC Network Engineer includes: • Salary range: $145,000 - $165,000 depending on experience • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO • Hybrid schedule with four days onsite at Scott Air Force Base This job opens for applications on 08/19/2026.
