Summary

Provides food, beverages and equipment for special events. Gathers all food and supplies, transports and sets up food service events and assists in clean-up after events.

Job Description

Monitors and maintains quality control of food and equipment, restocking supplies and cleaning and sanitizing food service areas. Displays strong customer service skills and the ability to work under stressful conditions. Possesses creative skills to attractively present food items. Exhibits good listening skills, effectively communicating with supervisors, co-workers, customers and staff. Demonstrates ability to follow written and oral directions. Establishes effective working relationships with co-workers and staff. Maintains quality control standards. Operates equipment such as, but not limited to, cold holding equipment, hot holding equipment, beverage machines, catering tables/carts, convection and combination ovens and dish washing machines. Depending on location, follows standardized recipes and Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines. Preferably, displays experience working in the food industry. Possesses ability to work independently when necessary. Possesses an understanding of food safety and sanitation processes. Demonstrates ability to be on feet for the majority of the day and walk far distances.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Possesses ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions. Ability to perform basic math. Depending upon location applying for, a minimum of two years experience in a catering environment preferred. On-the-job training will be provided.
Depending on location, may be required to have a current valid driver's license and meet all medical guidelines for Sanford Health Category III drivers.
