Würth Baer Supply Company is searching for a Warehouse Customer Service Pickup Associate (Will Call Counter Clerk) for our Distribution Center in Vernon Hills, IL. Join our growing and dynamic team and help us in receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping.

Location: 909 Forest Edge Dr, Vernon Hills, IL 60061

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm CT

Compensation: $20.00/HR starting pay (non-negotiable)

Drug Test: 14-panel pre-employment drug screen is required - WE ALSO TEST FOR ALL FORMS OF THC/CANNABIS/MARIJUANA - NO EXCEPTIONS

Basic Duties:

  • Looking up customer information in the computer
  • Interacting face-to-face with customers arriving at the warehouse facility to pick up their orders.
  • Assist with warehouse picking and packing duties
  • Contacting customers via phone as needed and handing them their orders
  • Performing inventory counts to ascertain product quantity accuracy
  • General customer service duties
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy work area
  • Seeking out other work during any downtime as needed
  • Cancellations of orders
  • Scanning and entering invoices
  • Processing returns
  • Product replenishment
  • Shipping out UPS orders and packages

The Associate will assist customers in the Will Call area of our distribution center and will be the FACE of the Company. Friendly, customer service oriented personalities are a must. In this role you will help customers while processing their order, locating products, handling returns, and providing general customer service. Given that we are a supplier to the woodworking industry, individuals with a knowledge or experience in the woodworking industry are encouraged to apply.

In this role you will work independently to assist customers; if the need exists you may be asked to unload product that will be placed in the will call display area. In the event you are not helping customers, the Will Call Associate is responsible for making sure all product on display is correctly positioned, the displays are clean and organized. This role may involve standing for long periods of time; additionally, the Associate may be asked to assist a customer with his/her purchase by helping them load it into the customer's vehicle. Variable temperatures/weather conditions may be present, and the Associate may be expected to lift items that weigh 10-30 pounds on average.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma and previous customer service experience
  • Basic computer knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Outlook + the ability to learn new systems
  • Punctuality is a must. We need someone very reliable for this role to take care of our customers.
  • The ideal candidate must be able to multitask as the role can pull you in many directions throughout the day.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, but not mandatory
  • Basic computer knowledge and ability to learn new systems
  • Must have at least some kind of experience looking up information in a warehouse management system (WMS). We use SAP (brand) software. The key here is looking up customer information, part numbers, quantities, etc.
  • Woodworking experience/knowledge helpful
  • Must be comfortable doing warehouse work AND assisting customers

Vacation Time: Employees accumulate 3.0769 hours of vacation time per pay period, that is 1.54 hours per week. You have to work at the minimum 40 hours per week in order to get the whole 1.54 hours, otherwise it is prorated to the total hours you worked for that week.
