PositionPurpose:TheQuality TechnicianII Emphasis on Calibrationwill plan, lead, and perform technical activities.The Quality TechnicianIIwillgrow tobe considered a Subject Matter Expert in their assigned position andbe responsible fortraining, improvement, and independent problem solvingin their area.The Quality TechnicianIIwill regularlyinterface withQuality Engineering, Production Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing,and Testas needed.


Title: Quality Technician II Emphasis on Calibration

Position Type:Full Time

Pay Range: $27.00 - 40.00/hour

On-site position at our Lafayette, CO location (work locations are subject to change based on business need).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Find ways to continuously improve the processesin theirarea.
  • Assistinestablishing, implementing,maintainingand improvingdepartment process documentation.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing principles throughout the organization as it pertains to quality assurancemethodology.
  • Foster a collaborative and interactive team environment that supports both a learning and teaching culture. Maintain an effective workingrelationship with others in the company.
  • Follow established job safety practices, policies and procedures as specified in plant and in corporate directives for the safe performance of daily activities. Proactively suggest improvements and elevate issues to management.
  • Assistwiththe calibration program.Make sure all tools that need to be in the program are included, that they get sent out and returned on the correct frequency, the needed data is obtained, and the quality records are kept.Helplocatemissing tools.
  • Interface with calibration suppliers to get tools sent out, returned, and repaired if necessary.
  • Start NCRs and shepherdthe determination of risk/actions when OOT tools are received.
  • Operate x-ray equipment.
  • Beinvolved inaudits of the calibration system.
  • Inspect mechanical and electrical components as needed.
  • Otherresponsibilities as assigned.

RequiredQualifications/Education:

  • A.A.S. or A.S. in a technicaldiscipline OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in aerospace/defense, electronics contract manufacturing, and/or high precision machining.
  • Experience with calibration programs and knowledge of ISO17025preferred.
  • Experience usingcomputers for data entry, item lookups,etc.Experience with MS Word and Excel.
  • Basic understanding of material flow in a manufacturing environment and importance ofmeasuring tool calibration.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 and AS9100requirements as it pertains to manufacturing and quality operations. AS9100 experience preferred.


Working Conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted. However, factors such as candidate flow and business necessity may require BCT to shorten or extend the application window.
