Purpose Statement

Frost Artisan Bakery is seeking a talented, creative, and detail-oriented Wedding Cake Decorator/Baker to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about baking, cake artistry, customer service, and creating memorable desserts for weddings and special events. The successful candidate will assist with production baking, wedding cake preparation, custom cake decorating, customer interactions, and maintaining the high-quality standards that Frost Artisan Bakery is known for.

Shift: PT 20-25 hours a week

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes

Cake Decorating & Baking
   Frost, decorate, and finish cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and other baked goods for the storefront and custom orders.
   Design and execute wedding cakes, celebration cakes, and specialty desserts with precision and attention to detail.
   Work with buttercream, fondant, gum paste, edible decorations, and various cake decorating techniques.
   Assist with baking, filling, assembling, and preparing products for daily retail and custom orders.
   Develop and contribute creative ideas for new monthly flavors, seasonal offerings, and specialty menu items.
   Ensure all products meet Frost Artisan Bakery's standards for quality, consistency, presentation, and taste.
Customer Service & Sales
   Provide exceptional customer service both in person and over the phone.
   Assist customers with cake consultations, wedding inquiries, and special order requests.
   Accurately take and fulfill customer orders while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail.
   Build positive relationships with customers and help create memorable experiences.
Wedding & Event Support
   Assist with wedding cake preparation, setup, and deliveries.
   Help coordinate and prepare products for weddings, pop-up events, vendor markets, and bakery events.
   Represent Frost Artisan Bakery professionally at community events, classes, and promotions.
Operations & Teamwork
   Follow proper cash handling procedures and accurately process transactions.
   Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
   Assist with inventory management, ingredient preparation, and production planning as needed.
   Work collaboratively with the bakery team to ensure smooth daily operations.
   Support cookie decorating classes, cupcake decorating classes, and other interactive customer events.
   Participate in pop-up events and special projects as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Experience
   Proven experience in baking, cake decorating, and bakery production.
   Experience decorating custom cakes and wedding cakes preferred.
   Experience working in a high-volume bakery environment preferred.
Technical Skills
   Strong cake decorating skills with buttercream, fondant, and other decorative mediums.
   Ability to execute intricate designs with precision and a steady hand.
   Understanding of baking techniques, production processes, and food safety practices.
   Ability to consistently produce high-quality work while meeting deadlines.
Customer Service & Communication
   Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
   Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
   Cash handling experience required; experience using Toast POS preferred.
Personal Qualities
   Creative, innovative, and passionate about cake artistry and baking.
   Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
   Positive attitude and ability to work well within a team environment.
   Comfortable working with large groups during classes, events, and community engagements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

   High School Diploma or equivalent required.
   ServSafe Certification preferred but not required.
   Valid New York State Driver's License required.
   Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings.
   Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

COMPENSATION

In accordance with state law, the rate or range provided is Rich Products Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates ("Rich's"), reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, shift differential, and location.
