What is a cafeteria monitor?

Cafeteria monitors are staff members responsible for supervising students during meal times in a school cafeteria. Their primary duties include ensuring students follow cafeteria rules, maintaining order, assisting with cleaning up spills or messes, and promoting a safe, respectful environment. They may also help students with seating, address conflicts, and report any issues to school administrators. Cafeteria monitors play a key role in fostering a positive dining experience for students.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a cafeteria monitor?

To thrive as a Cafeteria Monitor, you need basic supervisory skills, attention to detail, and usually a high school diploma or equivalent. Effective communication, consistency in enforcing rules, and building rapport with students are key strategies for overcoming these challenges.
