Georgia Families in Transition is looking for individuals to join our community-based mental health team!

Job description:

The Supervised Therapist position is focused on providing intensive in-home individual/family mental health counseling using evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches of care for children and adolescents at high risk of out of home placement or returning home from inpatient or residential treatment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Providing individual/family mental health counseling using evidence based and trauma informed approaches of care.
  • Providing individual/family mental health skill building services
  • Commitment to providing consistent, ongoing services to clients.
  • Participate in coordination of care with a multi-disciplinary treatment team.
  • Coordinating with a team to provide crisis intervention as necessary to enhance and restore functioning.
  • Meet or exceed agency required productivity and documentation standards.
  • Must be flexible to work after-school hours and weekends to accommodate clients served.
  • Travel is required within Gwinnett County, as well as toย neighboring counties located within an hour or less, to conductย in-person client sessions.
  • Other duties as assigned

Mandatory Requirements

  • Minimum of a Masterโ€™s degree in a psychology/social work/human services-related discipline with at least 3 years of behavioral healthย experience required
  • Must be at least license eligible and have qualified clinician providing supervision
  • Demonstrable knowledge of DSM-5 diagnosis criteria
  • Must be able to pass DBHDD background check (required prior to providing any services to clients)
  • State-mandated training: Relias, CPR/First Aid, CPI - must be completed within the first 30 days of hire, Relias training is at no cost, the cost of CPR/First Aid and CPI are not covered by the company.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and time management strategies
  • Willingness to travel to meet within clients in the Gwinnett area as well as toย neighboring counties located within an hour or less, to conductย in-person client sessions.
  • GA driver's license and car insurance required
  • Bilingual skills advantageous
  • Experience in substance abuse treatment or CADCย  (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) certification is a plusย 

Additional Information

  • Job Type: Full-time, 1099
  • Pay Rate: $30.00 - $50.00 per hourย 
  • Job Location Type: In person - Applicants either must reside in or have reliable transportation to provide in-person services within Gwinnett County, GA.ย Travel to client homes and community locations as required, with willingness to commute up to 1 hour for client sessions.
  • Schedule Requirements:ย Must be flexible to work after-school hours and weekends in order to accommodate the needs of the clients served. With availability to provide services duringย morning, afternoon, and/or evening hours. Be flexible to meet the scheduling needs of the parent/guardian.
