Kendal at Hanover is a non-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community, home to 400 residents in Hanover, New Hampshire. We have great part-time opportunities for individuals interested in the hospitality and food service field.

We are seeking a full-time Dining Services Lead. The Dining Services Lead helps create an environment where residents feel welcomed, valued, and cared for at every meal. Through servant leadership, operational excellence, teamwork, and accountability, this role supports Kendal at Hanover's mission of providing an exceptional dining experience while fostering a culture of respect, professionalism, and continuous improvement. The Dining Services Lead is responsible for providing daily leadership for all front-of-house dining operations, ensuring exceptional service for residents while supporting a positive, professional, and accountable team culture. This position serves as the operational lead for the Cadbury Dining Room, Café, and Catering Services, working collaboratively with the Dining Services Manager, Executive Chef, and kitchen staff to provide seamless service throughout the community.
The Dining Services Lead leads by example, coaches staff in real time, maintains high standards of hospitality and cleanliness, and ensures consistent execution of departmental policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
  • Lead daily front-of-house operations during assigned shifts;
  • Conducting pre-shift meetings and communicating daily priorities;
  • Assigning staff positions and responsibilities based on operational needs;
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing dining staff through positive, consistent leadership;
  • Reinforcing departmental policies, procedures, and service standards;
  • Ensuring residents receive exceptional hospitality and service;
  • Greeting residents and other guests professionally;
  • Monitoring dining room service;
  • Coordinate seating, reservations and special accommodations for the main dining room;
  • Assisting with planning and execution of internal catering events
  • Ensuring compliance with all food safety regulations.

The successful candidate will have previous supervisory or leadership experience and strong customer service and hospitality skills. We are looking for someone with excellent communication and organizational skills, the ability to lead and motivate a team, and who has knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. You must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to 40 pounds, frequently bend down, and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
The schedule for this position varies, but the hours will include week days and weekends between 8:00 AM - 7:30 PM.
Pay range: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour, dependent on qualifications and experience.
