Job Title: CAD Designer Intern (Part-Time)

Location: Simpsonville, SC

Reports to: Application Engineering Manager - Drafting & Design

Employment Type: Part-time

Job Function: CAD Design | Drafting

Job Summary: The function of this role is to create new models and drawings of existing part-drawings using SolidWorks.ย  Models and Drawings will be revision controlled and loaded into file Data Management systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience using SolidWorks modeling and detailing design software.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and create models and drawings of existing parts.
  • Understanding of casting and machining parts.
  • Familiar with Geometrical Tolerancing and dimensioning.
  • Attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft tools and an understanding of file data management / file revision control.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be actively pursuing an Associateโ€™s or Bachelor's degree in MET, Engineering Graphics or similar major.
  • Exposure to SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with geometrical Dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Ability to read 2D prints and interpret data.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with passion for new and changing ideas.
  • Microsoft basic tools, Teams and Outlook experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Extended periods of sitting and/or standing at a workstation.
  • Ability to type, reach, and grasp.
  • Able to carry, lift, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Reach, climb, crawl, walk.
  • Speak and present in person or virtually to individuals and small groups.
