Job Overview:

As an CAD Designer, Your main responsibility is to take 2D design concepts into 3D CAD files. You will work with Industrial designers from Bell, Camelbak, Fox Racing & Giro, to bring concepts to reality. You will be responsible for organic A-side surfacing, while working closely & cross-functionally with the Engineering team to integrate engineering parameters, parts and components.

Essential Functions of this Role:

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Execute the 3D CAD design of complete products for all aspects inside and out, including but not exclusive to their function, aesthetics, usability, and comfort.
  • Create surfaces that respect the visual language of the brand, while contributing to their evolution.
  • Provide solutions to design issues through a clear understanding of user and market needs
  • Deliver CAD files which supply development, engineering & manufacturing partners with information required to understand & and commercialize the intended product.
  • Working closely with product development, ensure that the margin and timeline targets of each product are achieved.
  • Actively engage in research of target market, industry competitors, and cultural trends.
  • Understand and design to the certification standards of each product category.
  • Assist product development in the commercialization of products through changes and tech packs.

Competencies:

  • Proven CAD Expert in either, Rhino, Alias, Blender, Solidworks, Catia, or similar modeling software.
  • Excellent visual communication skills and demonstrated ability to create highly sculptural forms through products that have been brought to market or in personal projects
  • A deeply enthusiastic attitude towards the Action Sports industries
  • A self-starter who is able to execute based on company priorities and multiple project timelines

Work Environment:

  • This job requires employees to be in the corporate offices in Irvine CA, 3 days per week.

Physical Demands:

  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or other move objects, including the human body.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery

Expected Hours of Work:

  • May be required to work more than 8 hours during a workday.

Travel:

  • Domestic and International travel to vendor visits, trade shows, sales events, etc. as needed.

Required Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Exceptional surfacing skills in 3D CAD
  • 3-5 years experience in Helmet Design.
  • A working knowledge of material properties, manufacturing processes and product development
  • Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite software packages and Microsoft Office

Pay Range:

Annual Salary: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00

The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
