Job description

Apex Companies is seeking a skilled CAD Technician with experience in modeling software to support the design and development of infrastructure projects. In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to produce precise, detailed drawings and 3D models of water/wastewater systems, site utilities, structural layouts, and related facilities. Your work will help ensure accurate, efficient, and timely project delivery.

Your Responsibilities as a CAD Technician:

  • Drafting & Modeling: Create, update, and maintain detailed 2D and 3D drawings using Revit, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or similar design software.
  • Project Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and project managers to interpret project requirements and translate them into accurate design documents.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all drawings and models comply with industry standards, municipal specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Documentation & File Management: Maintain organized project files, revise drawings as needed, and assist in preparing documentation packages for client and regulatory approvals.
  • Technical Support: Assist with data collection, field measurements, and design modifications to ensure design accuracy and consistency.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with new drafting technologies, software updates, and industry best practices to enhance efficiency and quality.

What we're looking for:

  • Proficiency in Civil 3D, Revit, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or similar modeling and drafting software.
  • Experience with infrastructure projects (e.g., water/wastewater, site utilities, structural layouts) preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality, accurate drawings.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • 2+ years of experience preferred.
  • Associate's degree (A.S.) in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred but not required; equivalent work experience will be considered.
