About the Role
Join our dedicated behavioral health team and escape frequent cancellations and high productivity demands. We are seeking qualified professionals to provide essential services to youth and young adults in a structured detention facility. Responsibilities for this full-time, 40-hour per week position include assessments, crisis response, and individual and group counseling. While flexible scheduling is possible based on facility coverage needs, the team operates 7 days a week. Operating hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and Saturday through Sunday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in a relevant field such as Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology and maintain a current licensure by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors or the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners (e.g., LGPC, LCPC, ADT, CSC-AD, CAC-AD, LGADC, LCADC, LMSW, LCSW, LCSW-C).

Core Responsibilities
  • Manage caseload of 8-12 youth.
  • Provide bi-weekly individual, group, and family engagement sessions (45-60 minutes).
  • Facilitate weekly 1-hour psychoeducational groups.
  • Conduct mandated screenings, assessments, and necessary follow-ups for youth.
  • Offer regular crisis intervention services and maintain corresponding documentation.
  • Ensure timely completion of daily clinical documentation.
  • Participate in required meetings, including youth staffings.
  • Collaborate effectively with members of the behavioral health team.
  • Flexible scheduling is available, though a commitment to working one evening per week until 8:00 PM is required.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work.
  • Current, active licensure in the state of Maryland (e.g., LGPC, LCPC, ADT, CSC-AD, CAC-AD, LGADC, LCADC, LMSW, LCSW, LCSW-C).
  • A minimum of three (3) years of professional counseling experience.
  • Previous experience counseling children and adolescents, particularly those within the juvenile justice system.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with technology, including familiarity with Google Docs.
  • Must be willing to successfully pass federal, state, and Child Protective Services (CPS) background checks.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
