Job description

About: St. Frances Cabrini High School amp; Academy is a Roman Catholic, co-educational school from 7 – 12, under the purview of the Archdiocese of Detroit, in Allen Park, Michigan.
Mission: Educating the mind, strengthening the body, and forming the soul according to the Catholic Tradition.
Vision: Cabrini Monarchs are compassionate servant-leaders and confident missionary disciples who, like Mother Cabrini, achieve “All things through Christ” (Philippians 4:13)
Goal: The Assistant Principal supports the development of school-wide vision and takes an active role in investing and mobilizing the school community to achieve the collective goals of the school; owns the implementation of school improvement and the growth and development of each student in support of the school-wide vision.
Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Principal and is a member of the Administrative Team
Essential Functions amp; Duties:
  • Supports and co-leads teacher professional development.
  • Supports the Principal in the observation and evaluation of teachers and support staff.
  • Supports and provides feedback to teachers to improve their instructional practice, especially as it relates to setting goals, implementing effective methodology, effective classroom management, positive relationships with students, and alignment with school culture and Catholic identity.
  • Assists in the mentoring of new teachers.
  • Participates in the design, implementation, evaluation, adaption, and improvement of curriculum and student activities in conjunction with the educational goals and mission of the school.
  • Oversees and supports behavioral management and appropriate discipline for students.
  • Coordinates, oversees, and maintains a school safety plan.
  • Assists the Principal in teacher and staff recruitment and hiring.
  • Works closely with the Admissions Director in overseeing the enrollment process of students.
  • Assists in the management, use, and training of the school’s FACTS (SIS) system, and other technology platforms.
  • Knowledge of restorative practices and serves as a liaison to support proactive measures of positive student behaviors and corrective actions.
  • Undertakes other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal.
Qualifications amp; Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field; master’s degree or higher preferred
  • Three years or more of classroom teaching experience
  • Assistant Principal or school leadership experience preferred.
  • Administrative licensure preferred.
  • Practicing Catholic preferred
  • Protecting God’s Children (VIRTUS training) and subject to Archdiocese of Detroit expanded background check.
Compensation amp; Benefits: Salary ranges from $50,000 to $90,000 and is commensurate with experience. Benefits include Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, Retirement Pension, Paid Vacation, Sick, and Personal Time Off, Optional Life Insurance, and Cabrini Catholic School Employee Tuition Discount.
