We are looking for reliable and experienced Fire Alarm Installation Technicians to join our growing team at Mann Fire & Security. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and inspection of fire alarm systems in commercial, industrial, and residential sites. You'll play a key role in helping us deliver critical life safety solutions to our clients.


This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position!


Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and test wiring for fire alarm devices
  • Label, test, and document wiring installation
  • Install and test fire alarm devices throughout commercial buildings per NFPA, local codes, and manufacturer specifications
  • Perform service, inspections, maintenance, and repairs on existing fire alarm systems

Requirements:

Relevant experience in a related field such as: Two-way Radio Communications, Electrical Work, Building Wiring, Telecommunications Technician, Cellular DAS systems, Building Security & Automation is strongly preferred. Trade or technical education and/or related military experience desired.

  • Must take pride in their work, must be dedicated to quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and test equipment used in the electrical trade such as power supplies and multimeters is desired but not required. Training is provided.
  • 1 to 4 years of construction or related experience. Previous experience with fire alarm system construction is a bonus.
  • General construction knowledge and know-how. Existing OSHA certifications are a plus.
  • Proficient in using various tools such as drills, saws, torque wrenches, crimpers, etc.
  • Must have a clean driving record - Excellent Safe Driving Skills
  • Ability to lift up to 80lbs, climb ladders, and too stand/walk during the workday
  • High attention to detail with the ability to effectively discuss and document technical issues.
  • Ability to strictly follow procedures and work instructions.
  • Must be highly dependable and able to work flexible hours with potential early morning starts, late night work, and overtime work when required.
  • Must be well organized with the ability to maintain a clean service vehicle and work areas.
  • Must have good communication skills and work well with others.
  • Must be solution-oriented with a positive can-do work attitude.
  • Must be able to travel through the state of FL Monday-Friday, with some overnight stays.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Knowledge of NFPA codes and fire alarm regulations.
  • Experience with systems such as EST, Notifier, Silent Knight, Fire-Lite, or similar.
  • NICET Certification (preferred but not required)
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to read and interpret cabling diagrams and construction drawings.
  • Willing to Travel (all expenses paid)
  • Low-Voltage installation experience
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Works well with hands; enjoys physical work
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot in a timely manner
  • Demonstrates attention to detail with strong organizational skills
