Job description
AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) designs, plans, delivers, and operates all AWS global infrastructure. We keep the cloud running by supporting AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that give customers continual access to innovation. We solve complex problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain.
You'll join software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other essential roles. You'll collaborate across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing capacity at the lowest cost for customers.
In this role, you will:
Work with Network Deployment and Vendor Management teams to integrate quality assurance into cable installation processes throughout the project lifecycle.
You'll participate in reviews of training curriculums and cabling design documents, providing Quality Assurance representation to ensure standards are met during cable installation activities. You'll influence partner teams and cabling vendors to adopt quality assurance checklists that validate conformance to both Amazon and jurisdictional standards during critical milestone checks for cable installation and testing activities.
You'll bring the voice of the customer forward by gathering feedback from internal stakeholders and cabling vendors, then refining quality processes based on their needs.
You'll verify that cable installations meet standards by reviewing documentation and data from milestone inspections and cable validation testing. You'll drive cable validation testing adoption and defect management while establishing performance benchmarks to improve vendor performance and enhance quality metrics. You'll document and align cable installation standards and standard operating procedures as new technology and cabling methods integrate into our infrastructure.
You'll also organize training with partner teams and provide guidelines to cabling vendors to ensure consistent execution across all network installations.
This role matters because cable installation quality directly impacts data center network reliability and customer experience. You'll own the quality process from participating in cabling design reviews through training delivery, ensuring our infrastructure meets the standards our customers depend on.
Key job responsibilities

Partner with the Vendor Management team to drive cable vendor quality, provide vendor performance metrics through business reviews, and refine processes to improve vendor performance
Define cable installation benchmark according to Amazon policies and industry standards; maintain cable installation standards, checklists, standard operating procedures and best practices guidelines
Organize Network Cabling Installation Quality Training Programs, and the creation of training materials, to support internal and external partner and stakeholder teams
Collaborate with stakeholder teams to capture metrics data such as inspection reports and cable test results; track defects for root cause analysis, generate recommendations, evaluate vendor performances and escalate issues to respective owners for remediation plans
Track and report on project milestones, vendor performance metrics, and quality KPIs including First Pass Yield, defect rates, and schedule adherence across multiple concurrent projects
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by capturing lessons learned, facilitating post-project reviews, and implementing process improvements to enhance future project delivery
Identify opportunities to reduce Cost of Poor Quality and improve overall project efficiency
Regional and Local Travel up to 25% to attend site visits and meetings for onsite quality standards review and collect feedback from onsite personnel
This is an opportunity to leverage and grow your existing program management, quality assurance and engineering experience in an innovative and highly collaborative environment where the results of your work will directly impact AWS and its customers.
