Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled,reliable and motivated experienced Drop Bury Technician to install and maintain underground cable service lines for residential and commercial properties. As a 1099 contractor, you will be responsible for your own equipment, transportation, and compliance with safety standards while completing high-quality work in a timely manner

Responsibilities

  • Perform underground cable drop installations using boring, trenching, or hand-bury methods.
  • Complete work orders for new installations, upgrades, repairs, and reroutes.
  • Operate tools and machinery such as trenchers, boring machines, shovels, and spades.
  • Read and interpret maps, work orders, and customer instructions accurately.
  • Ensure proper depth and placement of cable lines per local utility regulations and client specs.
  • Mark all buried utilities using locators or verify marked utilities before digging.
  • Restore job sites to original condition, including reseeding or applying topsoil when required.
  • Document completed jobs accurately using provided software or forms.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and property owners.
  • Maintain safety compliance at all times (OSHA standards, company safety manual).
  • Provide and maintain your own work truck, tools, PPE, and mobile device for job tracking.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year experience in drop bury cable installation (coax/fiber preferred).
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal guidelines for underground utility installation.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must have reliable transportation (truck), tools, and safety gear.
  • Must pass background check and drug screening (if applicable).
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
  • Prior experience with telecom companies.
