Description
Position Summary
The Cabinet Designer works within Showplace Cabinetry's internal design department, assisting our network of 1,000+ independent dealers with cabinetry design and layout services. This role is essential in delivering accurate designs, excellent customer service, and timely order processing.
Essential Functions
Other duties may be assigned, requested, or directed.
  • Create rough draft layouts and floor plan dimensions using the 20/20 design program.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate design logs, including notes and work completion status.
  • Answer incoming phone calls in a friendly and professional manner; all calls must be documented.
  • Provide customers with accurate information using approved resources.
  • Follow up with customers when additional research is needed, within department response expectations.
  • Respond to all customer communications (phone, email, fax, print, etc.) professionally and courteously.
  • Prepare and send perspective 3D renderings, layouts, and pricing for customer review.
  • Place orders for dealers when jobs are sold.
  • Review order acknowledgements for accuracy and submit required corrections.
General Requirements
Candidates must possess or be willing to learn the following:
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, the 20/20 design program or similar software.
  • Thorough understanding of all Showplace product lines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to resolve customer issues professionally and effectively.
  • Ability to collaborate with coworkers to achieve solutions.
  • Computer keyboarding skills; 10-key experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage mentally stressful situations.
  • Ability to read basic blueprints.
Working Hours
Regular Scheduled Operating Hours:
  • Monday-Thursday: 7:00 AM-4:30 PM or 7:30 AM-5:00 PM
  • Friday: 7:00 AM-11:00 AM or 7:30 AM-11:30 AM

Overtime Operating Hours:
  • Monday-Friday outside of regular operating hours, as needed.
