Position Overview

The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial information. This position will supervise accounting processes and personnel, assist with month-end close and financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and work closely with Sales, Operations, Purchasing, Inventory, Customer Service, and Management. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional who can manage people, understand the details, identify problems, and take ownership of getting them resolved.

QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant accounting experience may be considered.
Accounting Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Previous experience supervising, leading, or mentoring accounting staff.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Accounts Receivable (AR)
    • Accounts Payable (AP)
    • General Ledger (GL)
    • Bank Reconciliations
    • Journal Entries
    • Accruals and Prepaid Expenses
    • Fixed Assets
    • Month-End Close Processes
    • Financial Reporting

  • Experience reviewing accounting transactions and financial records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Knowledge and ability to create and present financial reports to senior management and owners.
  • Ability to identify accounting discrepancies, investigate root causes, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
Systems & Technical Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working with ERP and accounting systems; NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to learn, troubleshoot, and optimize accounting software and system integrations.
  • Experience with integrated business systems, including e-commerce platforms, payment processors, banking interfaces, tax software, and other third-party applications, preferred.
Leadership & Management Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, coach, and develop accounting team members.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload, manage deadlines, and delegate responsibilities effectively.
  • Experience creating, documenting, and improving accounting procedures and internal processes.
  • Ability to address employee performance issues professionally, consistently, and constructively.
  • Proven ability to foster accountability while maintaining a positive and productive team environment.
