Position Purpose
The Outside Cabinet Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business opportunities and maintaining relationships with existing clients in the cabinetry market. This role focuses on building and maintaining a strong customer base of builders, contractors, designers, and homeowners by offering tailored cabinetry solutions. The representative will actively promote company products, provide project consultations, and oversee cabinet orders through successful project completion.

Sales & Profitability
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing.
  • Price and quote projects to meet or exceed gross profit margin targets.

    • Review and approve all designs and proposals before presentation to clients.
    • Provide client approved contracts and layouts to Inside Sales Coordinators and save in shared folder as a final 'Order Packet'.
    • Review and approve order acknowledgements for accuracy.
    • Coordinate with operations and installation teams to ensure project success.

Performance Monitoring
    • Track and report on sales performance, gross profit margins, and customer satisfaction.
    • Meet or exceed quarterly sales and profitability targets.

Compliance & Standards
    • Adhere to company pricing policies, discount guidelines, and customer service standards.

Vendor Product Knowledge
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current vendor product lines, specifications, and availability to ensure accurate and competitive project proposals.
    • Establish and nurture relationships with vendor representatives to receive timely updates on new releases, discontinued items, and promotional opportunities.
    • Regularly review vendor catalogs, digital platforms, and communications to align offerings with client needs and project requirements.

Education, Qualifications, Licensing Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum of 2-3 years of outside sales experience, preferably in the cabinetry, construction, or building materials industry.
Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
Management Preference
Proficiency with design software (2020 Design preferred).
Industry certifications (e.g., NKBA) a plus but not required.
Working Conditions
Frequent travel to client sites, construction projects, and company locations within the designated territory. Occasional attendance at evening events, trade shows, or industry meetings. Hybrid work setting: combination of field visits, showroom/customer site visits, and administrative tasks from home or office.
Physical requirements
Ability to frequently stand, walk, and drive for extended periods. Ability to conduct site visits which may involve exposure to construction environments, uneven terrain, dust, and noise. Occasional lifting of samples, display materials, or cabinetry components up to 25 lbs.
